Mark do you know if ticket holders can get a money refund if they
    don’t want to go?

    Was anything said about that?

I’m already in contact with my credit card company before my 90 day
limit expires (90 days from date of purchase folks!).   I have a bad
feeling about trying to get my money back by just waiting.     I paid
520 dollars to see a race on April 29th or soon thereafter if it was
    rained out.

Can’t imagine TMS just giving back all the money if/when they get it
from CART.    They’ll comp tickets to other events, Give a racetrack
credit, you name it before they give back cash.  And if someones
dispute deadline on their card passes their screwed.

I hope, hope, hope it will be on the road course. But I’m sure the people
involved are smart enough to figure that out.

    That’s a report. It’s not official.

My PERSONAL OPINION is that you will get a refund for tickets from TMS if
the race is cancelled. If they reschedule, I don’t know if they will offer
the option to get a refund. My feeling is they will, but I DON’T KNOW that.

You should take whatever steps you feel are necessary to protect your
    investment.

I personally don’t think they will run on the road course. I think there are
too many logistic and operational problems, not to mention sight lines from
    the main grandstand.

It won’t be on the road course.

Their contract with TMS calls for racing on the oval.

I Hope they can slow the cars down some.  The practice I saw when I was
there Saturday was INCREDIBLE.  Can’t wait to go back when they run the
    race.

Why is running the road course the smart thing to do?  I would think it
would be the other way around.  If they can’t run the oval there then they
probably need to pull out completely.

What I saw at Atlanta was INCREDIBLE. The cars don’t belong on the high
banks. With another wheel rocketing (and I mean rocketing) into the
stands, I don’t see how Smith can continue to get insurance to run open
wheel cars on his high-banked tracks. The wheel tethers are ineffective.
The liability judgment if anything happens to a fan after this latest
incident (which was supposedly fixed) is going to be astronomical. Contracts
can easily be disolved if both parties agree it is a bad idea.  I hope
that good judgement prevails and Smith realizes that running on the oval
is a Bad Idea ™. He won’t of course. No one in this business seems to
    have any sense.

They will not achieve nearly the same speeds on the oval section of the
road course as they do in superspeedway configuration. They even have a
chicane or two on the front stretch to prevent the speeds. I like the
marketing potential of the road course: "Our cars are too fast for the
oval, so come out and see some real racing!" Too bad it won’t happen.
But you are right…they will cancel before they switch over to the road
course. I just like pipe dreams.

Geez. I meant *not* smart enough to figure that out.
