Want to know what pisses me off?

Motors TV in Europe showed the entire 1000 Km (6 hours) of LMES: Nurburgring
earlier and are showing Mosport live today as well.

    LMES is the European ALMS.

I live in Canada!   We don’t get Motors TV in North America!  Damn!

We’d probably get to see LEMS on SpeedVision if they weren’t so focused on
NASCAR, but that’s never going to change.

I’m also pissed off because this is the first ALMS / Sportscar event at
Mosport that I’ve missed in 10 years.  All my friends are there but I’m stuck
at home (for reasons beyond my control).

    This one should be good!

That was a kick ass race. The camera work is so much better than what we put up with from F1.

It’s such a great race track.

Last year, the highlight of the weekend from my perspective was watching a
pack of Star Mazda cars charging into the off camber corner 2, and all of
    them made it!

Don Panoz saved that track from bankruptcy in 1999.  He’s sunk money into it
and made it a great place to see racing and to race.

NASCAR was up there last spring giving it a look-see, but who knows what
they’ll do?  It’s a wide open old style road course and there isn’t a driver
alive today who hasn’t loved racing on it.

MotorsTV are one of the best reasons to have a Sky subscription. ;-)

No kidding!   SpeedChannel used to be really good until Fox bought it.  At
first it looked like they were going to heed the thousands of pleas from
viewers to avoid turning it into the NASCAR channel, but as time elapsed they
slowly but surely introduced more and more NASCAR / Stockcar programming
which replaced much of the European content.  Some of it made sense because I
recall when they had airplane racing on fairly regularly, but most of the
content they replaced was of the road racing variety.

They still do an excellent job covering Lemans and F1, I can compare them to
ITV because I get that feed as well; and their motorcycle coverage is
extensive.  I just wish they didn’t force feed us so much NASCAR, but I
suppose that pays the bills and is the reason why they’ve grown and are into
    more homes than ever.

FYI, I recorded a LMES race on SpeedtTV a couple weeks ago but have not had
time to watch it. Of course it was only a 1-hour show.

Speed shows 1 hour highlights as filler once and a while.  They’ll probably
get around showing the entire season by Thanksgiving. :(

I manage to watch them when I can, and at least concentrating 6 hours of
action into less than 1 hour makes for some exciting action!

The DVR is invaluable. You can really see a lot of non-NASCAR programming on
Speed with some proper DVR setup.
