AR1 updated their rumours page. It now says
"As we now understand it, these TV deals are only for England and Germany to
be shown live, with all other races shown on the 1-hour highlights show.
This of course is a major gaffe by CART and, based on the fan e-mail we are
receiving, is not sitting well with CART’s large international fan base. If
they don’t fix this problem, and fix it fast, it will rank right up there
with their top 3 blunders of all time."
That obviously means that ARD will only show the German 500 live (as they
already did last year).
Well, that’s it. I followed today’s race on the internet with the hope that
I’ll see the next race live. As it looks now, this won’t be the case.
Goodbye CART, it was nice to know you.

But wait. Just wait. "Moses" Pook will fix everything, right, Rik?
You posted it as *FACT* a day or so ago that *ALL* CART races were
going to be shown *LIVE* in Europe.
What? No retraction. No correction. None of your blathering over your
hero Mark Silly Pony?
What about all those *BILLIONS AND BILLIONS AND BILLIONS* of rabid,
avid CART fans throughout the world? If there really are so very many,
how come no overseas network wants to carry CART races? What about
all those fans and camels in Bahrain who will revolt when they hear
this?
I thought you had been saying "Moses" Pook would conquer all and have
an international TV deal any day now!
ROTFLMAO !
I am in tears I am *LAUGHING* so hard.
I do feel really sorry for those who wanted to see the races but now
cannot because of CART’s ineptitude and lack of caring for their fans.

Is now a good time to tell Pook: "Told you so!" ?
This is depressing stuff, and the race yesterday appeared on the
internet like it might have been a good one.

Olav, why don’t you just tune your dish to Astra and watch the race
there? IIRC you have the CD package (same as me) and it works great.
Cheers,

I would do if I had a dish. And I’m not allowed to put one up, as is
the case for many europeans. I get CD/KIOSK through cable.

Ah, OK
Didn’t know Kiosk was available through cable.

It is if you have a digital decoder from Telenor. The F1 coverage
alone is worth the extra prize. Wouldn’t mind doubling the prize for
CART though

Well here in Holland you’re free to put up a dish, and I’d say that
goes for the majority of the European countries. You could probably
even argue that a government cant stop you from puttng on up (freedom
of speech, freedom te receive information and all that).

Ask any German.
So you say, if you live in a condo/apartment/flat whatever the word
for it is, you are allowed to put up a dish on the outside wall ?

So your not being oppressed by your government, your being oppressed by you
I had the same problem before, but fortunately, my cable
landlord.
provider added Speedvision to their digital line up, so I no longer have a
reason to want a dish.

Well basically yes. Most dishes are put up on the balcony walls
though. Also we have canal digital, which is a bit like premiere or
sky, and they give away free dishes (you do have to buy a receiver
yourself). The only way to receive canal digital is in fact by using a
dish.

The same thing here. Canal Digital give away the dishes, but you have
to pay a monthly fee for three years or something. However, I get all
the channels availiable on Canal Digital on digital cable.
