Bridgestone tires next year

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:20 am

CART has signed Bridgestone as the tire supplier for next year. Basically,
that means the same tires, different paint on the sidewalls. BStone is
trying to raise it’s brand awareness in the U.S. and thinks CART will make
a good tool for that.

  1. We were just discussing Bridgestone/Firestone not too long ago…

  2. I wrote "And I repeat, _maybe_ a tire dilemma. Apparently the CART series
requires a lot more different tires… Firestone isn’t really known as
    Firestone
overseas, are they? Firestone has committed to IRL…

But, I’m just a dumb-old, white trash, Texan race fan…can’t much go on
    what I post."

Yea, that’s the ticket, raise brand awareness in the U.S. (snicker). :>)

Well, considering the recent problems with Firestone, I’m not surprised…

They may be wise using CART to promot e Bridgestone, trying to increase
awareness of the brand in North America, and still sell the company’s
product, without the negative publicity Firestone has gone through of
    late,….

I think it’s a pretty minor deal actually… Some people are gonna read a
lot into this, and means very very little…

    This can’t be true
    I thought CART was dead
Or maybe I’m reading too many posts from Tom Wesdorp (who makes
    Hooter/Defender almost enjoyable)

    Or is it?

Interesting, and very good news that finally some sponsors starts to
    see the international value.

I’ll still keep my Michelins though :)

CART, like any business, is interested in any place that it can be viable
    and make a buck,…
They are interested in profitable domestic venues, and profitable exports,..
